One needs to decide what they are going to be used for before deciding between Cotton or Polyester. You don't want thermals that are too warm. Cotton breathes well and is very comfortable. But if you sweat a lot cotton gets damp, so you can get cold. Polyester can wick moisture away from your body and keep you extra warm.
